Thank You
Baxter’s K-9 Complex would like to thank everyone who attended and participated in the 1st Annual Baxter’s K-9 Carnival! Despite the weather, the event was a success and we had a fantastic turnout with attendees coming from within a 50 mile radius. The event would not have been possible without our sponsor Tony Lampert and Sit Means Sit – St. Louis. Although there was plenty of fun and games, we were happy to be able to inform the guests about what Baxter’s and Sit Mean Sit has to offer in the way of training, K9 enrichment, daycare, boarding, and much more.  Tony Lampert and Casey Ray provided training demonstrations.
In addition, Baxter’s would like to thank the many vendors who participated in the carnival and made the day so much fun. Tom Limmer of TLS Photo, who’s on-site pet photography studio was the setting for dog portraits throughout the event. Carolyn O. Schlueter who’s great photography captured the K-9 Carnival all day long.
Cynthia Perkins aka Perky the Clown, who entertained with her creative balloon designs and Megan Ray and Esme Heredia, who ran the face painting booth… the kids and dogs looked great.
Tracy Bostic of K9 Karma Rescue and Pet Doctor Brad Watts for bringing pets that needed homes and stealing the show with the baby pot belly pig, and the ducklings, pet rat and tortoise respectively.
Brian & Lance with Harvester Treats, Stephanie Gramlick of Elsie’s Edibles, and Lee Williams from Boxador Bites for providing a variety of samples of their canine supplements and natural dog treats. Jay Quezada, the grill master for the amazing food, which was a hit with both the human and canine guests alike!
A special thank you to pet food and supplies distributor El Mel, long time supporter of Sit Means Sit and Baxter’s K-9 Complex, for the pet treats provided as part of the goodie bags, and Pro Pac providing one lucky raffle winner with free dog food for a year!
A carnival isn’t a carnival unless you have games and prizes, Mr. and Mrs. Hair did a great job managing the midway, with help from Alycia and Addison Lampert and Baxter’s staffers Heather Hair, Rebecca Norton, and Rebecca Dunnebacke.
We appreciate Shelly Ray of Baxter’s K-9 Complex, for coordinating the day’s events. Shelly was instrumental in working with our sponsor, Sit Means Sit, as well as with all of the venders to make the day fun and enjoyable for everyone. DJ Rick Paul of RPM Music, provided the days musical entertainment that really made the carnival fun and festive. Incorporating the electric slide into the best pet trick contest was a great idea and added to the excitement. Boy! Could those dogs dance! The kids were cute too.
Most importantly, Baxter’s would like say thank you to Tim Ezell from KTVI Fox 2 St. Louis for once again competing against Baxter (sorry you lost again to a dog) and promoting the K-9 Carnival. It is always an adventure with Tim Ezell and we enjoy being a part of Tim’s Travels.
Please visit our indoor dog park, and think of Baxter’s when you need a place for your pet to stay while you are away. Also call Sit Means Sit for all of your dog training… remember, they don’t train husbands, wives or children.
